On Monday, December 28, a flight operated by Indonesia’s flagship carrier, Garuda Indonesia, disappeared from radar screens shortly after takeoff from Surabaya, Indonesia. The plane, an Airbus A320-200, was carrying 156 passengers and crew, including one infant.
The plane, which was scheduled to fly to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, never arrived at its destination. A search and rescue operation was launched, but the plane has not yet been found.
