Garuda Indonesia is the national airline of Indonesia, with its main hub at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. The airline is a subsidiary of PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, a state-owned enterprise.
Garuda Indonesia was founded on 25 March 1949 as Garuda Indonesian Airways. The airline’s first flight was from Jakarta to Yogyakarta. It flew its first international flight in 1953, from Jakarta to Singapore.
