The Bali Nine, also known as the Bali Nine-Cell, are a group of nine Australians convicted of drug smuggling in Indonesia.
In April 2005, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, both students from Sydney, were arrested at Denpasar Airport in Bali, Indonesia, for trying to smuggle 8.3 kg of heroin out of the country. The pair were found guilty and sentenced to death in 2006.
In February 2016, Chan and Sukumaran were executed by firing squad.
