Indonesia will hold its latest presidential election on Wednesday, April 17. The election will see incumbent president Joko Widodo, popularly known as Jokowi, run against former army general Prabowo Subianto.
This will be the fifth presidential election in Indonesia’s history. The first was held in 2004, and the last took place in 2014.
Jokowi, who is from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), is the incumbent president. He won the election in 2014 with 53.15% of the vote.
