Every year, an estimated number of people migrate out of Indonesia. In 2015, the number of Indonesian migrants totaled 866,000, which was a decrease from the 1.1 million in 2014. Most of the migrants were female (53 percent) and young, with more than half of them aged between 20 and 29 years old.
